Wasn't going to pass that up when that was what I was going to wait for anyway post launch. I was going to hold off on getting it, but they had a half off sale on it for pre-order so I pulled the trigger on it. The game is a bit easy to cheese at the moment, but eh, that's a part of the charm of it for the moment. I love that theme and used to sit there for a while and just listen to it after I was done playing. I played a ton of the original and I will admit I got some goose bumps when it loaded up and I heard that main menu theme again. The AI is still wonky but I did notice the battle AI try to flank and reroute when confronted which I don't remember being common in the original vanilla game. I've been playing a Roman campaign and speed running it and the game is still really easy to cheese. And once RS2 comes out with its new campaign and new factions with completely reskinned and remodeled unit rosters for all factions, things will only get better. Roma Surrectum crew is already at work for the remaster. Anybody who hasn't tried Roma Surrectum has been missing out on the mod with the best gameplay, historical campaign, and soon to be greatest unit skin having mod ever. For $15 (half off from having the original discs), it was worth seeing what kind of quality of life changes they made but the best stuff will come with the mods with steam workshop support. I played this game heavily when it first came out, easily 500 hours back in the day with all the great mods that ended up coming out for it.
